Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 4, 2026
K Factor Filter ("K Factor," "we," "us") manufactures industrial liquid filtration and separation systems from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This page explains what personal information we collect through kfactorfilter.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language and follows Canada's federal private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information We Collect
Forms. Our site has three forms — the Contact form, the Free Trial request, and the Free Home/Site Assessment request. The Contact form asks for your full name, company, email, phone number, industry, your message, and, optionally, how you heard about us. When you submit a form, that information is sent to a K Factor Filter function hosted on our website platform, Netlify, which emails it to our sales team using Resend, an email-delivery service. We keep a hidden "honeypot" field and a short timing check on our forms purely to block automated spam submissions — legitimate visitors never see or need to interact with them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are viewed, how people navigate, and which form led to an enquiry. GA4 sets cookies in your browser and records page views, and when you submit a form we log a "lead" event along with which form was used, your answer (if any) to "how did you hear about us," and your selected industry. Google Analytics 4 does not store visitors' full IP addresses — an IP address is used briefly to estimate general location and is then discarded.
Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider, Netlify, automatically logs standard technical information — such as IP address and browser type — for security and reliability purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, schedule trials or assessments, and otherwise manage our relationship with you. We use analytics data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not use advertising cookies or run retargeting ads based on your visit.
Cookies
Google Analytics places a small number of cookies on your device to distinguish visitors and sessions. These are analytics cookies only — we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser's privacy settings, or opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site or submit a form.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep enquiry and form emails as ordinary business records for as long as needed to respond to you and to support our ongoing business relationship. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own retention settings, which we have set to hold event-level data for up to 14 months before it is automatically deleted.
Your Rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct it, request that we delete it, or withdraw any consent you previously gave — subject to legal or legitimate business record- keeping requirements. To make a request, use the contact details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our website or practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
